Asunto: Spanish Soft Matter

Descripción: The list aims at distributing relevant information to soft matter researchers working in this vibrant field within Spain. Systems of interest span granular matter, liquid crystals, colloidal science, droplets, jets, emulsions, foams, polymers, and more broadly any many-particle system with internal characteristic length-scales between atomic and macroscopic dimensions, and that could either be at or out-of equilibrium, as in the emerging field of active matter. Mechanical, optical, electrical, and thermal aspects of these materials are all of interest, as well as their phase and non-equilibrium behavior, linear and non-linear solid-like and/or liquid-like response, and structural and dynamical properties more generally. Additionally, due to the inherent multidisciplinary nature of the field, connections between soft matter and other disciplines, including statistical mechanics, non-equilibrium thermodynamics, complex systems, biology, nanoscience, chemical and mechanical engineering, and physical chemistry are all natural.
