Subject: Mailing list for the PhD journal club

Description: WELCOME TO THE OLD JOURNAL CLUB AT IFT HOMEPAGE!

The difference with a normal journal club is that, instead of discussing new papers, we should discuss seminal old papers in Theoretical Physics. Of course this is open to everyone and we encourage any seminal paper from all fields of hep theory/pheno. The point is to look at those papers we know are important (be it in our specific field or not), influential and that we use daily but that we never find the time to read. This should be helpful both to understand the papers and to have a better idea of the context in which these ideas (that we usually take for granted) were derived.

Recall as well that it will take place in a senior-free environment (just postdocs and PhDs students). The usual time and place will be Blue Room at IFT, Thursdays at 17:00.


In a recurrent basis, usually once a month, the Old Journal Club will be held in Facultad de Ciencias in order to encourage undergrads to join (which obvs they can normal days too).
